Living and experiencing a comprehensive yogic lifestyle, practicing together and learning to teach is a transformative and once in a lifetime experience. We believe that the best way to learn is through an immersive intensive course where it is natural to shut down external interferences to be able to focus within. This teacher training course is based on techniques of hatha yoga as taught in Sivananda tradition: asanas, pranayama, meditation, kriyas (purification practices), mudras and bandhas. The course is based on the same traditional methods that Jenny and Sanni have both trained by. Hatha yoga is a term for all the physical practices in yoga and it is basically the mother of all modern yoga. The aim of hatha yoga is to regulate and bring to balance the forces existent in the body, this way improving health, longevity, mental clarity and contentment in life.
The philosophical foundation of the course is yoga-educational, meaning that we do not hold one philosophical view that is considered the only truth. In the lectures we will cover yoga philosophy widely relying on several sources, including Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, Bhagavad Gita, Hatha Yoga Pradipika, Siva Samhita, Gheranda Samhita, Upanishads and Tantras.

Jenny Wallgren is an E-RYT 500+ experienced teacher with 17 years of self practice and thousands of teaching hours worldwide. She's the founder and owner of the personal development interactive online global studio Equmind. She teaches and educates individuals and corporates all over the world and splits her time in Asia, USA and Europe. She's the concept builder of Urban Yoga Intensive level 1 - 3, main teacher and co-creator in the Equmind Teacher Training program, a dedicated and loyal lover of the practice and is in constant self-development. She sees Equmind to be an extension of herself with aim to provide at least one valuable method in every session for you to take with you to your own growth process.
After working as a risk analyst in investment banking for a decade, Jenny put everything on hold, bought a ticket to India and left in the pursuit of deeper purpose and meaning, which ended up being Yoga. Throughout her journey, she practiced and deepened her knowledge in the science of Yoga and Vedanta. She lived with her Gurus in India for over a year and meditated with monks in complete silence for weeks at a time. Since then, she has been sharing her love for Yoga across the globe, as part of her mission to inspire individuals and corporates to Explore, Evolve & Educate, in order to promote sustainable mental and emotional health through a fusion of Yoga and the latest behavioral and neuroscience research.
She has her main teacher in Swami Govindananda and belongs to the initiated lineage of Swami Sivananda. She lives with her Gurus at least for a month every year to deepen her own knowledge, understanding and awareness for mental and emotional health.
Sanni Parkkinen is an experienced yoga teacher (E-RYT 500) coming originally from Finland. Living in Trondheim, Norway, she teaches yoga in which a human being is seen as whole, mind and body being like two sides of a coin. Her previous career was in the field of business and consulting but after years of yoga practice and search for ‘something more’ she finally took the leap in 2014 and has been working as full-time yoga teacher since then. She’s also coaching people to live happier & healthier with emphasis on physiology first - meaning that nervous system health is the key to solve many of the issues we tend to call mental.
Sanni has lived and worked in various yoga ashrams and centers in India, USA and Canada for altogether 2 years. During those years as senior staff in the International Sivananda Yoga Vedanta organization she studied and taught traditional Hatha Yoga and Advaita Vedanta and assisted the organization's teacher training courses. For the past three years she has immersed herself in traditional non-dual Shaiva-Shakta tantra with teachers such as Miska Käppi (close student of Acarya Bhagavan Shri Shanmukha Anantha Natha) and tantra scholar Christopher Hareesh Wallis.
Sanni is especially passionate about yoga philosophy and the colourful history of yoga. She has a strong appreciation for yogic and tantrik traditions but at the same time she likes to question all the ready-made truths, examine them deeply and use modern science as a language to make them more understandable for a modern human. From living and serving in yoga ashrams to enjoying life to the fullest while staying true to the teachings - that has been Sanni’s path!
