Our winter 2019 ”All you can Yoga" retreat will be held along the spectacular seaside in Kerala, India. We will visit the ashram of Swami Govindananda to explore parts of life as a yogi, we visit the tea-plantages in Munnar and travel the coast of exotic Kerala where you can swim in the warm waters of the Arabian sea or take in the breathtaking views from the sheer cliffs that surround the beach.

The retreat offers 5 hours of daily yoga asana, pranayama and meditation classes with plenty of time to explore the local markets, temples or just lay in the sun sipping a fresh coconut, talking to Swami-ji or enjoying an ayurvedic massage. Most days meals are included but for some days lunch and dinner come as extra costs* to sample the local cuisine for evenings (don't miss the sunset from the cliff top restaurants).

  • 5 hours of pranayama, yoga and meditation offered daily, some with Jenny, some with other experienced teachers we meet along the journey (pre-arranged and only high qualified teachers)
  • Meet and have a chat with Guru’s who dedicated their lives to the life according to Yoga and Vedanta, squeeze out all their knowledge and simply learn by their pure devotion, compassion as their deep understanding of life
  • Participate in fire rituals and learn how to chant (sing) in Sanskrit
  • Soak up the sceneries from the water-view on a houseboat through the Venice of the east with a possible stop to visit the ”hugging mother”, one of Indias few female Guru’s

Fits who?
This retreat is open to everyone, total beginners and pro practitioners are all welcome. No experience is necessary, you’ll learn all you need to know during the trip - part of the journey - and we can nearly promise you’ll be great at ordering chai, dosas as well as coconuts. All with a smile at heart.

This is a retreat for you who needs to escape the west for a short time to rejuvenate and want to give yourself the time to simply be, meanwhile exploring the curiosity of exotic southern India. Hopefully you like the combination of yoga and traveling experience. You will deepen your understanding and practice in Yoga, meditation and pranayama over these few days or weeks.

This trip combine all this in a relaxed & flexible schedule with optional yoga, pranayama and meditation practice up to 5 hours daily. Most activities are scheduled to free mid-day times for your own leisure by choice. Maybe visit a temple, spend the day at the beach, your new favorite juice bar or go to the local market and pick up some spices or chai.

Swami Govindananda Saraswati With 30 years experience teaching Yoga and Vedanta philosophy, graduating a few thousands of fledgling yoga teachers, Swami Govindananda Saraswati is a gifted and charismatic teacher. Much loved by his students for his unique style and humour, Swami Govindananda is a rare jewel of integrity and truth, with hundreds of disciples throughout the world.

A direct disciple of Swami Vishnudevananda, Swami Govindananda started his ashram life in Sivananda Ashram Neyyar Dam, Kerala in 1987. Combined with his yoga teaching qualifications from the International Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Centre organization (, Swami Govindananda has graduated in Physics and a Bachelors degree in Education, giving him a unique ability to dispense complicated philosophical teachings to be easily understood by people from all cultures, of all ages, all over the world.

Teaching such subjects as: Raja Yoga, Yoga Asanas, Vedanta Philosophy, Baghavad Gita, Sanskrit, Hatha Yoga, Classic Hindu Scriptures, Yogic Diet, Kriyas, Meditation, Advanced Pranayama, Hatha Yoga teaching skills and Advanced Yoga teaching skills.

Swami Nivedanananda is born and brought up in Kottayam district in Kerala, India. After formal schooling, at a young age itself Swamiji joined the Sivagiri Sree Narayana Math, Varkala, Kerala and underwent traditional education on Sanskrit, Vedanta, Yoga sutra, Gita, tantric poojas and rituals for 7 years. This led him to take the sannyasa initiation ( a vow of a monk ) from the same ashram at a very young age and served the ashram for many years.

Swamiji took formal training in Yoga at the Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Centres in India undergoing the Yoga Teacher Training Course as well as the Advanced Yoga Teacher Training Course. During his stay in Sivananda Ashram, Neyyar dam, India Swamiji taught many hatha yoga classes and Veda chanting. Many of Swamiji’s friends and students will fondly remember him as the priest of the same ashram daily following the ritual performance for about 10 years.

Jenny Wallgren is 500 E-RYT experienced teacher with main teacher in Swami Govindananda and a lineage of Swami Sivananda. She have many years of self practice and teaching hours and are the founder and owner of the personal development studio Equmind at Södermalm in Stockholm. She recently were assistant senior teacher in China 200h Teacher training course and are the concept builder of Urban Yoga Intensive L1 & L2.

She is a compassionate teacher who brings energy, space and joy to every class she shares with her students. Her deep knowledge in mind and body are thanks to her great broad experience both from deepened practice in yoga and meditation as from her time as an elite athlete and her 9 year carrier as a risk analyst in investment banking, experiences she finds very beneficial and creates a unique fusion in her as a teacher. She though consider herself to be simply one among all and are well aware of the strain of modern life both of internal and external characters. She found her resolution in Yoga and meditation and find its her mission to inspire and be of guidance to ease the mental imbalances, stresses of everyday life, tensions in physical body - by teaching the techniques of an eastern ancient practice. She always connects the east to the west in an easy-to-grasp way so what happens on the yogamat also can be integrated into everyday life. Thats how, she believes, Yoga can be of greatest benefit to all in a western modern society.

7 days 22-28/1: 9 950kr (Kannur (ashram with Swami-ji), beachtime, Munnar)
10 days 22-31/1: 13 950kr (7 days + Backwaters + Varkala/beachlife.)
14 days 22/1-4/2: 18 400kr (10 days + 4 more beach days and day trips by choice maybe to well known Sivananda ashram and / or shopping trip to Trivandrum.)

For each student who join us, Equmind donate from our own pocket, a month-worth of stay for an unprivileged girl or boy (of your choice in Your Name) to a gurukulam system in India that one of Jennys teacher Swami Tattvarupananda is the founder and chairman. This being part of Equminds Karma-project since three years back. Building futures for unfortunate children, becoming fortunate.

  • Extra day-trips we happily help to organize for your days off if you want to go on your own for a short while
